Adult Day Habilitation

Day Habilitation Services are provided for any adult over the age of eighteen who has received a certificate of completion from a public school.

The Learning Center of North Arkansas operates our Day Habilitation program at our Berryville campus.  Adults receive evaluations to better gauge their developmental levels and individualized treatment plans are prepared by a team of professionals to address clients’ needs.

Clients are taught daily life skills as they are engaged in a wide variety of activities including: shopping, community outings, field trips, and exercising at the local community center.  The program is also active in Arkansas Special Olympics.

For clients interested in securing employment outside the center, we are proud to offer Supported Employment services.

For those clients interested, our staff will assist with the employment application process, interview, and will go to the job site with them as long as assistance is required.

Waiver Program

This program is intended to assist clients with community based services including: daily living skills, overnight care, transportation, and assistance with daily life skills such as banking, bill payment, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.

The Learning Center of North Arkansas is a licensed provider of this service through the Division of Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS) and will assist families and clients by designing an appropriate plan of care in order to meet the identified individual needs.

The program serves individuals with developmental disabilities including but not limited to: intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, autism, down’s syndrome, etc. This program also cares for persons with conditions similar to an intellectual disability (i.e. traumatic brain injury) who may require services similar to that of a person with an intellectual disability if the onset of the condition was prior to the person’s 22nd birthday.

If you are interested in enrolling for the Medicaid Waiver program, please contact the local DDS specialist, Debbie Renfroe at (870) 741-6107.
